Dear family and friends,
This has been a rather uneventful year for us here in Michigan.
We really didn’t take a vacation this year, something that we WILL remedy this coming year.
But here are some of the things that we did do.
I was able to go into PA and help my mom move into her new place at Calvary Fellowship Homes in Lancaster. It is a one-bedroom apartment, but it is really great for her. I truly enjoyed my time there, I helped put up curtains and pictures, etc. Calvary Fellowship is a great place, mom was always lonely in her place in E-town but now she is busy, she is nearer her main doctors and for us boys that is a blessing to see her so happy and involved. It is often hard to get a hold of her because she seems to be always going to some function. Her leukemia seems to have stabilized and for that we are thankful.
The church is going really well. We have commissioned and ordained one of our members into the ministry and he has taken a church two towns over and is doing well. He has a large family and I honestly thought we would have a drop of in attendance, but God has more than replaced his family and at the last board meeting we saw that the church has continued to grow.
This year I have taken on something new. A Christian school that is nearby needed an Anatomy teacher, the principal was a member of our church and she was really concerned. I saw the need and due to my background in EMS I volunteered. I have been learning a lot and do enjoy it. I teach three days a week a class of seniors, but like the students, I am ready for a break.
One negative thing is that we had to put down our beloved Mimi. Man, saying good-bye to a dog is hard. We realized that we needed another pet, so we got a Peekadoodle, a cross between a Pekingese and a Poodle. This dog is awesome, we are still working on the house breaking but she is super smart and picking it up super-fast.
We are looking forward to Christmas as in two days, Matt, Mary, Grant and Jane are going to be here. Right now we are enjoying a warm wave which will stick with us until they get here and then cold air will come in with lake effect snows so we feel confident of a white Christmas with snow on Christmas day.
We are hoping that you too will have a great Christmas with friends and loved ones.
Merry Christmas,
Steve and Linda
