Meet Our Leadership

Pastor Steve and Linda DeGroft

Pastor Steve and Linda DeGroft started their ministry here at Decatur Bible Church in December 2015 and we have been blessed to see all that God has done through us and the people of the church since their arrival.
Pastor Steve comes to Decatur Bible with over 45 years of experience in ministry. He has been a youth pastor in two churches in southern California and has pastored three churches in the state of Maine. He has also been a Director of Admissions at the Word of Life Bible Institute in New York and in that position has traveled extensively to represent the Bible Institute in schools and churches across the eastern parts of the United States.
He is married to a Michigan native, Linda, for 45 years and they have one son, Matthew. Matthew is a retired Army officer and is graduated from a ship design apprenticeship program at a large shipyard (Bath Iron Works) in Maine. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Mary, and they have three children, Grant, Jane and Reid.
Pastor Steve is also a nationally registered EMT-Basic and is a member of the Decatur/Hamilton Quick Response team, and his interests include emergency medicine, bass fishing, bicycle riding and attempting to play golf.
He and Linda look forward to meeting you at church some time soon.
Pastor Steve recently announced his retirement from ministry and will be moving to Florida for the next stage of his life.
